Looking to donate food? Our most needed item this week is Canned Tomatoes.

Food/Grocery Donations

We accept just about anything! However, here are some guidelines to help:

  • We can only accept perishable food during open hours so it can be put into the fridge or freezer immediately
  • We can only accept food that has been professionally prepared. So while you’re grandma’s home-canned peaches are probably the best, we won’t be able to distribute them
  • We also accept dog/cat food, hygiene, and household items. Some items, like Feminine Hygiene, are always in need. See our Donate Time page for more ideas on hygiene items.

We accept expired food!

Did you know food that’s past the best-by or sell-by date can be completely safe? In fact, manufacturers aren’t required by law to include dates on their food items. Because our food comes from so many sources, it’s often past the best-by or sell-by date. Our army of volunteers go through all food items and makes sure they’re still safe and healthy to eat, and we don’t distribute any food we wouldn’t eat ourselves.

Food we don't accept:

  • Food that’s been open. For example, we can’t accept a gallon of milk that’s half empty.
