Board Secretary
Duane started working with the Bountiful Food Pantry Board through the dental program, Pantry Smiles, when it was sponsored by the Pantry. Duane served as the Dental Director for the program and worked at the DATC dental clinic twice a month for eight years. During that time Duane also served as the Dental Director for the dental clinic at the Church College of Samoa and as a volunteer at the Church College of Tonga. These clinics were free to the public.
Duane spent time in Mongolia working as a mentor for the dentists in Choibalsan, and in the schools there teaching dental hygiene. He received the Distinguished Service Award from the Utah Dental Association following his retirement from the profession. Duane served on the Utah Dental Board for 7 years, and the Board of Dental Examiners for over 20 years, where he traveled to dental schools throughout the country to examine dental students for licensure.
Duane received his dental education at Northwestern University Dental School followed by a two year stint in the United States Army. His undergraduate education was at Brigham Young University. Duane loves spending time boating with his wife, Nora, and his family. He also loves fishing with his friends, golfing with his buddies, and oil painting by himself.
